Easy Hummus without Tahini recipe

Simple recipe for hummus made with just a few ingredients and no tahini. So much better than store-bought stuff.

Ingredients
  • 1 can 15 oz. garbanzo beans chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons olive or grapeseed oil
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • crushed red pepper flakes optional garnish
  • chopped parsley optional garnish
Instructions
  1. Place beans, garlic, lemon juice and oil in a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth. Add water, two tablespoons at a time, and blend to reach desired consistency.
  2. Season with salt, and cumin. Stir.
Recipe Notes

Serve with vegetables or chips, spread of pita or tortilla in wraps OR add to pasta.
