In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, parsley, Parmesan, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, garlic powder, and beaten eggs.Mix well to form 12 balls.Covering refrigerator to needed.
Step 2 In a large saucepan, fry the onions and garlic with olives over medium heat until translucent.Add tomatoes, salt, sugar and bay leaf.Put the lid on, reduce the heat and simmer for 90 minutes.Add tomato sauce, basil, ½ teaspoon pepper and meatballs, and simmer for another 30 minutes.
