Crock-Pot Candy

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons coconut oil or canola oil (optional)
  • 3 cups dry roasted unsalted peanuts or mixed nuts
  • Flaky sea salt, for garnish (optional)
  • Directions

    1. Line 2 or 3 baking sheets with parchment paper or wax paper.
    2. Add the dark chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, coconut oil and peanuts to the slow cooker, and stir to combine.
    3. Heat on low for 1 hour without touching. Be sure to avoid stirring the mixture or taking the lid off of the slow cooker.
    4. After 1 hour, stir to combine. If needed, allow the mixture to cook longer – stirring ever 10 minutes – until all of the chocolate is melted completely.
    5. Drop tablespoonfuls of the chocolate mixture onto the lined baking sheets. Top with the flaky sea salt, if using. Allow to cool for 2 hours, or until completely set.

    Chef’s Tips

    • If desired, you can use part or all bittersweet or semisweet chocolate chips in place of part or all of the dark chocolate chips.
    • The coconut or canola oil is not required, BUT using it will help the chocolate candy flow better and maintain its shine.
    • If desired, you can use part salted roasted nuts in place of the unsalted roasted nuts.
