This Cheesy Steak Bake Will Be The Star at any Dinner!
Ingredients To Gather:
- 1 pound steak tips
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 cup fontina cheese, grated
- 6 slices bacon, optional
- 2 white onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tablespoon herbs de Provence
- kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
Directions To Follow:
Begin by preheating your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Next, cook the bacon but not too well. You don’t want it to be too crispy because it’s going to cook later when you bake the steak. Next, sear the steak tips until all of the sides are brown. Use a large pan or skillet and cook over high heat. Then, reduce the heat to medium-low heat and add the onion. Then:
Season with salt and pepper and sauté for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until onions are softened, translucent and golden brown.
Add minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.
Place steak tips in a large baking dish, add bacon strips (if using) and cover with caramelized onions and garlic.
Top with both cheeses and sprinkle with herbs de Provence.
Place in oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly and steak is cooked through.
Yum! This recipe serves six, so if you have leftovers you can easily keep them by freezing them and thawing them out when you’re ready to eat. You can also make extra and freeze what you don’t need so you have a hearty, delicious meal on hand for those nights when you don’t have time to make something from scratch!
